Over two decades ago, Bettye was ahead of her time when she published,

MY SOUL SPEAKS TRUTH.  She tried to open up conversations about race, cultures, and TRUTH, seeing life from a different perspective from where she lived/lives compared to main stream America.  Her SOUL cried/cries out in silence to SPEAK.  That desire has not been quenched but the thirst to drink....from an ever flowing spring of cooling water...never ceases.
